HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS 2018 + AN EXCITING LIFE UPDATE
Happy Thursday, friends! Today’s post is an exciting one filled with lots of holiday goodness and some BIG news. Last year, I shared my home for the holidays post and you guys loved it, so I thought it would be fun to do the same this year! I have come to truly love my tiny little space over this past year and a half. It’s been so fun to decorate it to reflect my personal cozy style and change it up seasonally. This is the first place I have ever lived in by myself and although living alone can be lonely at times, I have definitely learned so much about myself during this period of my life. I highly recommend taking the time to live alone at some point if possible, because you will learn so much about yourself in the process. Aside from moving into my own place, a few other big life changes have taken place for me since graduating from college in May of 2017, including starting my first corporate job as a Marketing Manager and launching my blog. This past year has been such an incredible season of change and growth and I can’t wait to see what this next year holds. With that being said, I have some exciting news I’ve been DYING to share with you my friends…
I WILL BE MOVING INTO A HOUSE IN MAY OF 2019.
Typing this is bringing tears to my eyes because living in my own house is something I’ve dreamt about for so long. All of this happened so fast over the past few months, it’s been such a whirlwind. I’ll give you a little back story real quick. As I’ve previously mentioned, my long distance boyfriend of 3+ years is graduating from grad school, with a masters in finance, this upcoming May. We have been talking about his post-grad plans for some time now and we have decided the best move for both our careers and relationship, is for him to join me here in Birmingham. At the same time my mom and I have also been talking for a while about her wanting to purchase a house in a nearby up-and-coming area as a rental investment. About a month ago she took the plunge and purchased a property she found a great deal on. Since then, things have truly fallen into place as she has graciously agreed to fix up the house and rent it out to Preston and I when he moves here in May. Like I said, this has all happened so fast and there are a lot of huge changes taking place in our lives this next year. These are all very personal things I’m sharing with you today, that as my friends, I am asking you to please respect. No, Preston and I are not engaged or married, but trust me when I say we have put a lot of thought and prayer into these decisions and are doing what we think is right for our relationship. Although the unknown can be scary, we know our future is in Gods hands, not our own, and to this day he has never given us anything we couldn’t handle. We trust in his plan and are so excited for the future.
The house is a total wreck right now, like it actually looks terrible (LOL) but we are fixing it up together and it’s going to be really cute when we are finished. Even though Preston and I won't technically own the house, it’s still OURS and we couldn’t be more excited. Now that you know the big news, I can’t wait to start sharing the transformation process with you on both Instagram and here on the blog. It’s going to be so much fun and I hope you all enjoy following along! XOXO
Now enjoy a few photos of my apartment all dressed up for the holidays this year!!
Hope these inspire you!
