Over the past couple of years Chattanooga, Tennessee has become like a second home to me. If you’ve been following along with me for a while, then you probably know my boyfriend of 3+ years was born and raised in Chattanooga. You can find one of my most popular blog posts about our long distance relationship here. I have done a lot and I mean a lot of driving to and from Chattanooga since meeting Preston- Spending many weekends hiking to the best mountain views and eating at amazing local gems.
It’s safe to say this post has been a long time coming! Above I shared a few of my favorite photos taken in Chatt this past year. It’s truly such a unique and beautiful town that I have fallen so in love with. There is always something fun to do, whether it’s experiencing the fun outdoorsy scene, taking a stroll on the cutest blue bridge over the water or dining at the most delicious establishments. I highly recommend visiting Chattanooga and if you ever do, I hope this guide helps you make the most out of your visit. Today I’m sharing all of my Chattanooga favorites and I am so excited about it. Keep reading for tips on where to eat/drink, where to stay and what to do in Chattanooga, Tennessee!
WHERE TO STAY:
Moxy Chattanooga - The Moxy is a brand new stylishly chic hotel located in Chattanooga’s Southside downtown. This hotel is super hip and you just can’t beat the location. It’s perfectly placed in the heart of it all, walking distance from amazing restaurants, night clubs, music venues and more! Preston and I absolutely loved staying here this past weekend. Upon arrival we were greeted at the front desk with complimentary snacks and the hotels signature cocktail. The staff were all very cool, helpful and accommodating. In the bar/check-in area there is a plethora of seating and tons of games (our favorite part hehe). We stayed down there for a couple of hours on Friday night playing pool, shuffleboard, connect four and jenga. IT WAS SO MUCH FUN! There was also a small market area in the lobby with local, delicious snacks available for purchase and a coffee bar which we loved to visit in the mornings. As for the room, it was super cute and cozy. The hotel is pet friendly which we loved and took advantage of by bringing our pups along with us for the weekend stay-cation. The room even had food and water bowls for our fur babies, which we thought was the cutest touch. They had decorated the hotel room with Christmas lights which had us feeling very festive. My favorite part about the room was that the TV streamed Netflix and Hulu!! We watched quite a few movies during our stay at the Moxy. There was also an area right around the corner from our room for ironing clothes and a filtered water station which we thought was such a cool concept. In conclusion, everything about the Moxy was fun and fabulous. I highly recommend staying here if you ever find yourself in Chattanooga. I do know that they are owned by Marriott and have a few other locations elsewhere, so definitely look into that as well.
WHERE TO EAT/DRINK:
I’m not going to go into much detail here because the food scene in Chattanooga is absolutely outstanding and I have SO many favorites to share. Trust me when I say you can’t go wrong with any of these.
Alleia: On the pricer side but by far the best Italian food I’ve ever had. The perfect spot for a date night.
The Bitter Alibi: Went here for brunch this weekend. Very unique dishes and super trendy!
Terminal: One of the best burgers in town!
Stir: Has a great brunch!
The Feed
Yellow Deli: A local favorite, trust me when I say this place is extremely unique and you must experience it to understand the hype!!
Blue Plate: Cute place to grab lunch near the water.
Clyde’s
State of Confusion: Fun spot for brunch!
The Hot Chocolatier: Very famous in Chattanooga. Try the salted caramel hot chocolate and thank me later!! YUM!
Clumpies: Various locations around town. Great ice cream!!
The Ice Cream Show: Located at the base of the Walnut Street Bridge. We love to grab an ice cream and take a stroll on the bridge or over to the art museum.
Tony’s Pasta: Another amazing dinner date spot.
Ann Frankensteins: A small local breakfast spot, famous for their pancakes and waffles. They even sell the mix to make their batter at home.
Frothy Monkey: My very favorite spot to grab a coffee. Try the golden monkey iced latte!

Tupelo Honey: SUPER trendy spot! Went here for lunch and it was great.
The Local Juicer and Kitchen
Milk and Honey: Another great place to grab coffee or a light breakfast/lunch.
WHAT TO DO:
High Point: Cool indoor/outdoor rock climbing facility.
Rock City Enchanted Light Show: Seasonal but if you visit here during Christmas time this is a truly magical experience and a MUST.

Rainbow Lake (Signal Mountain): This is the hiking trail which leads to the view of the river pictured above. An amazing hike leading to a surreal, breathtaking view.
Sunset Rock (Lookout Mountain): Another amazing view. Preston took me here for Valentine’s Day the first year we were dating.
Ice Skating at the Choo Choo: This is also seasonal for Christmas time but is so much fun to do in the winter!
Wine Over Water: Wine festival that takes place once a year but is the MOST FUN. We have gone the past 2 years. Enjoy tasting wine from 100+ vendors set up across the beautiful walking bridge over the river.
Chattanooga Farmers Market: Open on Sunday’s
Chattanooga Christmas Market: Only open during the month of December!
Skydiving
Chattanooga Lookouts Game: Fun to go to a baseball game when they are in season.
